After listening so many times to my favorite songs in FLAC, i asked myself:
1) Actually, I love my Sony WM1Z and I very like my new M15 as DAP.
2) Since I listen mostof the time to the same albumbs I buy anyway, I have them as FLAC, so not really a DAP with WLAN / Streaming needed.
3) However, once I want to stream with Qobuz or Tidal, I like the UAPP App that bypass the Android limitations and gives a great experience.
4) But I have to admit... I tried the iFi iDSD Micro Signature in 2 ways: 1) connected with my Smartphone, 2) connected with my Laptop. On my Smartphone, I use UAPP. On my Laptop, I use Tidal as the ifi gets recognized as a DAC for MQA. However, I do also use Hi-Res Player aps.
SO WHAT....
I highly appreciate the Hi-Fi Insider YT Channel and he also iFi Micro iDSD Diablo is as almost as good as the DMP-Z1 from Sony.
So I really ask myself after listening my songs so many times that maybe the iFi iDSD Micro Signature / Diablo is more than enough for me. Because My FLAC; DSD; MQA are streamed bitperfect 1:1 anyway... and the AMP / DAC does a perfect job in this case (better than my M15 or Sony WM1Z) for both of my headphones: AK T1P Gen2 and Sony MDR-Z1R headphones.
I wanted to sell the T1p to buy the Sennheiser HD 820 soon. But again, the iFi iDSD Micro Signature has so much power that it can work with it very very well.
Since I am not a hardcore expert, please do correct me if I am missing something or understood it wrong.
What are your thoughts?
