For those that have a balanced headphone that is low Z impedance like the ATH-W100, how does the Lavry XLR balanced output handle that low impedance? I am thinking about balancing a pair of my headphones and wanted to check if the Lavry can't handle low of an impedance (40 ohms) headphones on that side.

Thanks

It can handle them, i.e. no damage will occur or anything like that, however most people have said that low impedance cans sound better from the headphone amp than the XLR (likely due to 75ohm output impedance versus zero). Also the XLR will clip at a lower volume than the headphone amp, due to a low current output, but it would be over 100dB for most headphones either way, so that's not much of an issue.

How about it, anyone with a balanced L3000 or R10 or K701 want to tell of their Lavry DA10 experience?

Thanks

Brian

Make sure you get back with us either here or in your own thread with that comparison.
