Eddie said that the device supports 16 bit-96khz. Seeing that my M-Audio Transit died for no reason (and to be perfectly honest, I couldn't really tell the difference between 16bit and 24bit... someone enlighten me here) I may get one...

I say get an M-audio transit for around $75.
It has both A/D and D/A, and optical In/Out.
Drivers will always be supported because M-audio is here to stay.
