The HDMI socket on my laptop has stopped working. So I am after a USB to HDMI adapter that can output 5.1 (DD & DTS). Anyone have any recommendations or suggestions about other solutions?
 
If it's not possible to output 5.1 via the USB port, I'll settle for stereo.

What inputs do you have on the other side? If it's a home theatre receiver, you could use a USB-S/PDIF converter

The laptop in question is at my fiance's place and will plug directly into her TV. I really want a usb to hdmi solution. 5.1 if possible, but stereo if not.
