Ello,

I currently own the Asus Xonar U7 USB DAC, and am looking for an upgrade.

I'm currently looking at the Creative Sound Blaster E5. I would be using it for listening to music through the Sennheiser IE80 IEMs. Also, I use Tidal Hi-Fi so would be using FLAC quality tracks. Also worth mentioning, I am using a laptop (Toshiba).

My question is, would the difference be significant between the two DACs? And if you have any other suggestions, that would be great.

Thanks!

I think that upgrade, if it's an upgrade at all---- seems marginal. I would suggest you to look one step higher into the $300 terretory, where you will find a lot more options and really will be able to hear a difference. The immediate recommendation that popped out of my head will be the Chord Mojo.

I'm a new member but already have done some research in portable dac/amps. I auditioned the Chord mojo, it's really worth the hype and still an amazing product as of today.

Funny, I was just looking at this one after I posted. They definitely didn't aesthetics into account with this one did they...

No that it matters, just saying. The reviews look promising other than the concerns about durability... However the price is a bit high. I think 300 would be good, but this one is 500 on amazon.

Open to more ideas from others.

Well, I bought the Mojo on eBay for about 375. This thing is amazing! I would definitely recommend. Thanks man
It is a great dac/amp and you paid a good price. Will run plenty of full sized headphones also.
