Hey guys!

I recently got a my Focal Listen Pro and I'm loving the detail that I get from them. They are a step up from the Spirit Pros that broke down on me

I will mainly use the Listen Pros for mixing tracks in 48/24. I'm currently using my MacBook Pro's headphone output and I'm wondering if I could benefit from a DAC.

Google-fu has led me to mixed reviews on the Dragonfly DAC (dunno if I should get the Red or Black) and the Apogee One but I'm interested in what you guys recommend

I don’t think you would benefit a whole lot with a dragonfly Red or Black . The MacBook Pro has a good dac in it and if you are happy with the sound then go with it. If you want to spend the money the go Red. It is a sweet dac but there are better headphone amps.

Sweet! Thanks for the reply man. Any amp/dac you can recommend? I would want to demo them out if I have some where I live

Apple products seem to come with a fairly decent DAC function and your Focal Listen Pro headphones are only 32-Ohm, so assuming they are easy to drive.
So getting a external DAC may not be as important.
You might be better off buying an Audio Interface, more for the software (Mac software), for mixing, then for audio improvement.

I don’t think you need one unless you are recording tracks. You are good to go unless you just want to spend money .
