I'm using the windows default USB Codec with my DAC. Music in iTunes sounds great, but I'm not getting the same crystal clear sound in games.

Is there something I can do without spending money to get the same high end music quality in my games?

Games tend to sound like crap and use compression, so unless you plan to redo the game's music/sound effects, don't worry about it..

Thats the problem of better audio equipment: you hear the source well. If it is crappy, it sounds bad. Get a couple of $20 logitech speakers and connect them directly to the analog audio out of the laptop and you wont notice the difference anymore. Everything will sound bad
