Application questions:

  • East Coast US (I will give me personal address privately)
  • I own a wealth of audio gear, but for this review I will be using a LCD-4, HE1K, and a SINE.
  • I don't own any Cayin products.
  • My reviews on Head-Fi as well as other reviews from my site.

I have participated in numerous beta programs in the past and am extremely easy to work with and contact.

Atlanta, GA
Gear I will use: Sennheiser HD800 (SE & balanced), HiFiMan HE1000 (SE & balanced), HE400i (SE & balanced), Fostex THX00, Grado SR225e, Matrix HPA3B, HPA3U, Grace m9XX, Beezar Torpedo III
I've previously had a spark but don't currently have it

http://www.head-fi.org/products/grace-design-m9xx-compact-usb-dac-with-integrated-headphone-amp/reviews/14760

Additionally, depending on the timing of when I got it, I may be able to show it off at the Atlanta meet I am organizing in early September. This usually consists of around 20-30 people that are head-fi members or members of AVCOA (audio visual club of Atlanta).

I will likely be able to get a few more Atlanta head-fiers in the tour, and will edit this post if/when they join.

That sounds wonderful, please invite your Atlanta folks to check this out because this will increase the overall duration of IDAC-6 and IHA-6 in Atlanta, making it easier to bring the gear to the meet.

Please keep us informed, looking forwards to your updates.

We are most appreciated on your interested in iDAC-6 and iHA-6 combo. May I ask how long will it take if we send the iDAC-6/iHA-6 to you from California state? and the time for you to send back to US will be roughly the same? Do you We have to consider the turnaround time as well as the logistic cost involved.

Do you stationed in Japan? or you are a cross-pacific frequent traveler? Maybe we can work out a special schedule to fit into your traveling schedule in case you have joined the US tour finally.

USPS priority takes anywhere from 7-10 calendar days but typically 7. It's the same time both directions. I am stationed in Japan.

* Atlanta, GA
* Emotiva Big Ego, various computer equipment, 788T, Focal Pro, AKG K340, (asso.: NAD C390DD, Neumann D-01, Sennheiser MD441-N, RN17, KM184 D, Avantone Buttercreme)
* As a A-VCOA member, I participated in CanLanta and helped demonstrate D/A converters, headphone amps, and ultra-high-end headphones; though I don't represent (never have, never plan to) any of the companies involved. I was a volunteer and enthusiast when the reps couldn't make it. That's the confidence and trust everyone has in me.

Thanks for your clarification, we shall take this into consideration, :beerchug:

One last question, maybe other participants can help me to understand the situation as well.

If we send the iDAC-6 and iHA-6 from US to Japan, and then from Japan back to US, will there be tax consequence?

Glad to have another Atlanta friends on-board, that will make it easier to fit the iDAC-6 and iHA-6 into the meet schedule.

Your profile is impeccable, its our honors to have you as our iDAC-6/iHA-6 reviewer. I hope you don't mind if I seek one additional clarification at this point, because I can't find any discussion or review history from your Headfi account, I understand you might have other platform to conduct your reviews or exchanges, maybe i assume that if you were to participate in this tour, you'll be willing to write up an impression or review for iDAC-6/iHA-6 in HeadFi forum? :beerchug:

Dear Mark,

Very good, while we might have other arrangement at the end of the tour, its our pleasure to have you on board and possible meeting you in person at CanJam RMAF.

Since your experience is mostly with speakers, will you be able to review iDAC-6 in your speaker based system?

Not to an FPO address. FPO, APO and DPO addresses are treated the same as domestic shipping if you use USPS. No extra tax or customs hold ups.

Would love to.  I don't have a dedicated pre-amp.  Will the iDAC-6 function as a balanced pre-amp?

The iDAC-6 does come with a pre-amp mode offer volume control in both RCA and XLR output. It does has the traditional signal amplification circuit as traditional HiFi preamp, but should serve the purpose if your power amp. has enough gain to compensate.
