I'll be buying one of Alex's V3 cables in the next couple of days and I was wondering if it would be worth upgrading the stock Neutrik XLR plugs to Furutech FP701M. Do you think there'd be an appreciable difference? I'm inclined to think not but I'm open to opinions and I'd hate to get a great cable and have it let down by weak connectors!

Can't help you Bizzel, but you would be better in the equipment forum.

Whoops! I was looking there and wondered why it hadn't showed up!

How is the Neutrik plug "weak"?

I didn't mean to imply that it was, though what I'm asking isn't far removed. Is the Neutrik XLR plug a solid, strong connector or would the Furutech plugs be a worthwhile upgrade?

In the end I stuck with the Neutrik connectors. I can't justify $40 more for some shinier XLR plugs.

I got a V3 single ended and I could not help myself. I got the furtech 1/4" plug.
