Urgent: Etymotic Shirt Clip Question

The title sounds silly, but I really am in a fix. I need to replace the shirt clip to our department's Shure wireless microphone (ATW-T75, long discontinued) because someone borrowed it and lost the clip. I think the ety shirt clip would be perfect, IF it can "grasp" the neck of the mic, which looks to be exactly 1 cm in diameter. Will it work? I can order a shirt clip from Todd....

The clip on my Etys is smaller than that, and clips on a plastic barrel about 8mm in diameter.

It looks fairly delicate, like maybe another 2mm stretch _may_ break it, but you might get lucky if you're careful...
