I'm totally new to the MP3, FLAC, etc. world.

On a separate threat last week, I learned how to rip cds into .flac with EAC, and then with Foobar2000 to copy those cds into mp3 V0 at 245k variable.

So my Dell hardrive has about 40 cds with cds in both FLAC and MP3.

Now, how do I get these MP3 into iTunes so I can load them onto a spare Nano that my daughters no longer use? I want to have this done today -- I'm on a flight to NYC at midnight and would like some tunes with me for the 2 day trip.

My daughter can install iTunes onto my computer. Then I'm guessing it will be tricky to get my mp3 off my hardrive into itunes.... she has no idea what I'm talking about. She always rips straight into itunes, and I suspect it is at 128, which I don't want.

Once iTunes is installed, use the File > Add to Library menu to add the MP3s to your library, then sync your iPod.

Drag and drop also works.

No, iTunes wont re-encode your files unless you specifically ask it to.
Just add your MP3 files to iTunes (drag & drop, or "File -> Add to Library...".

Then hook up the iPod and it will ask you if you want to automatically or manually synchronize your library with the iPod.
