I've had my X2s for around two years now and I feel like it's time to upgrade. I like the X2 sound but would maybe want to upgrade to something with a more neutral sound signature, open-back, still with a bit of a bass boost. Mainly want more detail overall but specifically better treble. I was looking at the HD660S or DT1990 PRO.

I would also be buying an amp and dac whenever I go to buy the headphones.

$1000 in headphones or headphones, dac and amp (total)?

If you can spend $1,000 just on the headphones might as well get the LCD-2F, and drive it with something like the AudioGD NFB-11.
