I am a sound noob

but enjoying my new hobby. I really liked the beyers i sold. i guess im a basshead. I was told the beyers dt 990 250ohm version significantly outdothe dt770. I will get the cable upgrades darth or whatever is needed but if i were to upgrade which one would be best to upgrade with dt770 or dt990. I like the bass in the dt 770 is it the same in the 990 or less bass?

ok only the dt770 can be darthed thank you for that info didnt know that but i can still upgrade the cables on the 990 so would a darthed 770 be better or a 990 with upgraded cables?

I don't know for sure, as you haven't given any info on what kind of music you like to listen to, what you need it for (isolation or no isolation). I'm sure many people can help you out if you provided some more information about what you intend to use your headphones for.

I listen to everyting from electronic rock rap symphony 30's american bands jazz etc. I prefer a bassy can i want to feel like im in a night club. I will use it for gaming primarily and music.

I was told a 990 is better than a 770 and just wondering if i upgrade the cables on each would the 990 still be better than the 770? and i have no idea what the sound differences are between the two of them.

As much as I love Beyers, since you own Denon D2000's, maybe you should get an amp first. DT990's will require an amp to sound good anyway.

i have an supermicro 4 on order since may29 plus im almost ready to buy a zaholu 2.5 with upgraded headphone amp. I am still burning in the dennons they have great sound at times the bass sounds good and at other times not so good. If i could mix the bass of the beyers and the sonic abilty of the dennons id be happy.

I am trying to figure out with upgraded cables or mods i could achieve that and what is the difference between them? does a darthmod on a dt770 better than a dt990 with upgraded cables?
