Sennheiser no longer make the ie8 as the ie80 has taken its place. If money is not an issue then the ie80s are definitely the better option. However, if you do want to save your dollars then the ie8s are good enough to suit your purpose and will cost you considerably less than the 80s. The problem will be finding a genuine pair as there are many fake ie8s out there and because Senn no longer makes them many genuine Senn dealers no longer stock them.
