Ok my first post here, and I'm glad I found the place! I need to ask the collective Head-Fi knowledge a question.

I currently own Sennheiser HD25 SPs and Shure E2cs. I am looking for a pair of headphones that would be a substantial improvement over either of these. My requirements are:
  1. Comfort. I plan on wearing these for long periods of time while at the office. My HD25s are rather uncomfortable and I don't like to wear them for more than a couple of hours.
  2. Responsive. I would like to be able to power these with my 4G iPod. An amp is a possibility later, but ideally no amp necessary right now.
  3. Sound good playing jazz, classical, alt/classic/indie rock.
  4. Around $200. I could go a bit higher if necessary.

After reading this site for many hours, I am considering the Audio-Technica ATH-A900, since they are a closed can and can be powered easily by an iPod. I'm not sure if these represent a big enough leap ahead of the HD25s to justify spending the cash though.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Why stay in doubt ? Buy ATH-A900LTD if closed required. AKG701 looks apealing to me if open required. I'll buy one also.
