So everytime I build a new PC I get a new pair of headphones. Due to the hype I got the SHP9500s (which I love), but now it's time to upgrade.

I had my eyes on the X2s but now looking at the post-Gibson reviews I don't think it's worth it to roll the dice.

So I'm looking for another pair of headphones with better more detailed mids and highs compared to the SHP9500s. I don't mind losing out on some soundstage or bass.

I don't want to spend over $300, but I will if I really have to.

I also plan on getting the Schiit Fulla, if that helps.

The Massdrop AKG K7XX is a phenomenal contender in the $200 price range especially if you want to stick with an open can.  The comfort is also outstanding.  My father-in-law has the red K7XXs paired with a Schitt Vali 2.  IMO this is the best bang for the buck rig I can think of.

They recently ended a drop but these pop up pretty regularly.

I think I'll go with the DT 880 Pros. From what I've read they seem perfect for my music tastes.

DT880, balanced sound, slightly on the bright side.
Nedes to be used with a decent headphone amplifier.

Yep. I plan on using the Schiit Fulla. Would you recommend something else?

I've used a Fulla to drive my 250-Ohm Beyers, the Fulla did it easily.

Even the DT 880 Edition (aka Premium) 600 Ω (ohms) got really loud from the Fulla. If you get a lower impedance version, you should be fine with that.

Great to hear!
