Since I last posted an inquiry for your help...I have done some hopeful improvements to my PC but have not noticed any change so to speak in its performance. I have been looking to improve my PC sound quality with a new pair of Sennheiser HD 598's, unfortunately my volume on my system needs to be .5 to .75 turned up before I get increased volume?
What I have put into my system are as follows:

1. Asus Xonar DGX sound card
2. EVGA GeForce GTX 750Ti graphics card

I should have listened to Purple Angel and did the DAC/AMP combo pkg instead I'm thinking?

Bottom Line:  Would like to increase my volume on anything I plug into my system without turning them 3/4 of the way?  Can anyone help?

Thanks

You could get a FiiO A3 (E11K) headphone amplifier, $60.
Plug it straight into the Xonar DGX.
Just max out the volume controls on in Windows and the Xonar control panel.
Control volume using the A3.

Later on maybe find a good deal on a used Xonar DX sound card, better DAC chip then the DGX.
