Hello. Let me begin by saying my english is what it is:) I'm from Denmark and i found this
awesome forum on google. Anyway i got these nice gamer sennheiser pc323d and wan't to
know if it's necessary to restart my computer every time i configure the 7.1 surround in the taskbar?

And is there any way to mod/fix the volume so it can get higher when listning to music in stereo?

Kind regards

Welcome to head-fi
Sorry about your wallet.

There are too many things involved in your question than I don't think nobody will be able to give a proper answer. The laptop model, soundcard, drivers, even the headphones' software might be the cause. In theory you shouldn't have to restart your computer to fix such a problem. Log out and log in should do the same trick a lot faster

I must presume you download the lastest soundcard drivers and senn software.
Open volume controls and change in playback the device and test...

About the volume (which I found weird) use VLC to raise the volume pre-amp, EQ might be helpful too or get an small headphone amp to raise the volume

Hi sorry for the late reply but haven't had the time befor now:)
I know my question covered several issues and i did manage
to get my pc323d working without disconnecting them every time.
I just connected them in the back usb port and is now turning the
speakers on and off when using headphones or pc speakers in controlpanel:)

I contacted sennheiser.com and the told me there is no way around getting
the pc323d to get any louder in stereo/normal mobile phone listning. It's okay
since i mostly use them on my pc with gaming and music.

One last question for now. Is the asus xonar d2/pm a good soundcard for allround
use with pc? Got a good deal for 40$ used but good condition?

Or should i go for a new asus xonar dgx instead?

Thank you for your reply:)
