I am wondering about it all the time. Despite the high quality of the iAudio7 is the amount of users on this forum not big enough.
The 7 is in my opinion the most ideal portable MUSIC player.
1. Enough space
2. Unbeatable battery life up to 60 hours
3. Excelent SQ
4. Supporting all important formats of music

I understand that other players have some of the attributes too but I think none of them has them all like the 7.
Is this because the higher price and some minor issues with the tags or the legendary "bad UI" ??

I find it too thick / bulky and it does not have a memory card slot like the D2.
That gives the D2 a slight edge IMO.
They are both much bigger than the Meizu M6SL for instance, which sounds pretty good (but not quite as good as the Cowon.....)

I know it is a bit bulkier but the size of the 7 is more than portable.
Look at the battery life and sound quality of the Meizu, it is just not compareable to the 7.
The only advantage is that the Meizu is cheaper.

1. Enough space
Your first selling point for this player is "enough space"? I wouldn't exactly call that a unique feature.

2. Unbeatable battery life up to 60 hours
Honestly, the battery life advantage of the iAudio 7 just doesn't matter to me. Why on earth do you need a player to go nearly three days without charging? In my opinion, unless you have some kind of special situation, anything over 24 hours is overkill. It's just not that hard to plug in the power/USB cord.

3. Excelent SQ
Could well be, but many others have excellent audio quality as well, and have more/better features.

4. Supporting all important formats of music
True, Cowon is pretty good about that.

I don't have anything against the player, I just see it as pretty darned mediocre, and I wonder why Cowon would release it when they already have the (arguably superior) D2.

I take it you have had hands-on experience with the Meizu M6?

I have borrowed it for a day from a friend.
It was good but I do not like it so much. I do not need such a big screen (its only sucking too much energy from the battery).
The amp of the meizu has simply not as much power than the 7.

For me, I just want a DAP...not a PMP, and the iA7 is just right, but I do wish it had a SD slot.

Has anyone noticed though... For some reason Cowon players can keep getting smaller...but not thinner... just a minor gripe...

And yeah...i too don't need a big screen for the majority of the time so the iAudio 7 is good for those who simply don't need multimedia beyond music...

I agree. If you're looking for a combination of sound quality/battery/memory, then the 7 is a very strong contender. I wouldn't agree that the D2 is arguably better. I have the D2 and I don't think it's quite as usable 'on the streets' because of the touch screen. They are just different beasts - both very nice beasts!

yes I know iaudiophile.net, it is a good forum.
I was speaking about this forum. Not many people are discussing it here (when you compare it to Sony, Meizu, etc.)

On the contrary, Cowon is continually being compared to or refered to when talking about Sony's new player, even iriver's,etc.

I am fairly new in this forum, but regularly Cowon/iaudio products are "talked" about.

I know I "promote" Cowon players when I can, Damn! I use them!!

FOTM is quite randomn...

regards,
