Unbelievable... Koss KSC-35

^agreed. I'm surprised that the OP didn't get ksc75/35s before attaining over 700 posts! Interesting stuff.

The SR-60s are good, but not enough to denote a price 3-4x the koss phones. Recabled ksc35s from apuresound are said to be awesome; heck, even anyone who's marginally good at soldering can recable their ksc's and make it a bit better.

Oh, and johnanderson, nice to see another AZ head-fier. It's been lonely up here in Scottsdale :frowning2:

i have ksc75's and 35's, but i prefer the sound of the 75's. the 35's are nice for some tracks/music, but for the most part it's bass is silly compared to the 75. atleast for me.

are they really worth $45 bucks though when you can get the 75's for $15??

I'm really considering dropping $45 on the KSC35's now that they're back in stock at Koss.com. Are they really worth $45 though? I know they used to be much cheaper...

Just got my grado sr60's and they were not a disappointment at all. They are better than the ksc 75's I have IMO. I got the grados used for 40 bucks also, so I found that to be a steal. The next thing I want is a Cmoy pocket amp. Anyone have suggestions for a person to buy one off ebay from? If not its cool, I have some ideas.

Wow, this thread reminded me that I picked up 2 pairs of KSC35s a couple years ago and never listened to them much before I stashed them in a drawer. I'm listening to them now and they sounds pretty good especially for the money.
My main rig is just a pair of Senn HD280 Pros hooked up to a hot audio USB DAC/amp so that's what I'm comparing against... However, after the last few weeks on this forum I think I've caught the "bug" and I can see some bigger purchases coming in the near future

I've also just recently gotten into tube gear too...

I just received my KSC35's, and i must say I'm pleasantly surprised at what I'm hearing

I think my only gripe is that these are less than ideal for classical, anything cello-related seems horribly sucked out and pushed far to the back...

Give them about 50-100 hours of burn in and they will do much better, but also I found the sound stage to open a bit when I pulled the ear clips off and stuck the earpieces onto a $1.99 partsexpress.com headband - less pressure on the ears and they seem more open.

I also remember not noticing much improvement from the ksc35s to my
ms1s. I was using them amped from the headphone out of a crappish source though and mainly for rock. Someone here once said that the ksc35 is 85% of what you can get from headphones. It hurts to think this might be true.
