Well, I bit the bullet an joined. I've heard I can DIY better if I post in this forum. Been making my own electronics for a while but just recently got into headphone amps.

Lets see, my current setup consists of a Teclast C280 player, A Sony CDR-W66 CD and some Alesis M1 Active monitors. Oh and Grado SR-80's.

So, will you help me become a better DIY'er?

Greetings to all, pity my wallet!

Here's my current masterpiece: Point 2 Point CMOY

Really? Honestly it sounds great to me. What's the difference between long leads and regular circuit board traces? I would assume it's about the same difference, but then again, I've never listened to a "real" headphone amp, so what do I know.

concerning the leads, they are prone to picking up interference and then of course it's not the ideal solution from a mechanical point of view, you'd also eliminate the chance of shorting anything by accident , where you to case it up or drop it by accident at your workspace

I suppose. I'm really shocked at how good it sounds though. I have an OPA2134 in it fyi.

By the way, I just stumbled upon a pair of LM6181 opamps. Can't seem to find any info on them as far as using them in an amp. I think they are meant for video but they are current feedback and I think maybe they might work well with Grados. Know anything about them?

I'm sorry i have no experience with the CMoy
The Ad844 stated as replacable by the LM6181 by National is used in the Kumisa Amps though (you can read on them over at headwize).

I cant find any implementaion of the LM6181 as a direct driver though, it`s always driving a buffer or a discrete output stage
