[EDIT] I never listened to any of them, that's pretty much the general consensus so please take this in consideration that this is pretty subjective.

Just replace the er4b with er4p for unamped use or er4s for amped use... the er4b is for binaural recordings lol

The Etymotics are all pretty neutral, er4s being the most balanced, er4p the most bassy...

The Shure E500 is well regarded for it's natural warm sound with smooth mids, many people claim they have rolled-off highs and big bass.

5 Pro = ask yourself if you really want to feel the bass, if not, pass on this one.

Westone UM2 is known to be the most comfy of all universal iems, bass a little bloated but impactful, kinda dark sounding but upfront at the same time, smooth mids and smooth highs... I would wait for the Westone 3 though...

Don't know about the EH1.

If there's no amp, i think er4B sounds much better than er4p.
coz er4p has a lower res. which make it pretty hard to control the noise and find a good amp for it.

about B and S, B has parallel conneced a resistor which makes a lightly differnence on highs between them.im sure some mentioned this b4.hehe
