Hey guys,

I just bought the Ultrasone Pro 650 having sold my old Pro 550. I really miss the quantity of bass that my Pro 550 gave me. Does anyone with experience with the Ultrasone Pro series and the 550 know which other part of the series has the same or dare I say more amount of bass quantity as the 550?  Does the Pro 900 have the same amount of bass quantity?

Thanks in advance!

I have had both the Proline 550 and the Pro900, albeit at different times and with different equipment, and so not apples to apples; and also memory is a poor guide to sound.  All I can say is that the 550 is a solid performer with a bass emphasis.  The Pro900 is in a different leauge regarding quality sound, it is a bass oriented headphone, pocessing both quality and quanity bass, and has plenty of punch. I didn't find the Pro900 to be as bass orientated as some report, it is not a doof doof can.  Of all the headphones I have bought and sold, it is probably the only one that I  may purchase again in the future, and that is not to say that I haven't thoroughly enjoyed other past headphones-ESW9, AD900, and others.

If you are looking for a quality sound with plenty of healthy bass punch, then there are probably only a few headphones on the planet that deliver better than the Pro900.

I remember we discussed this as well last month, but I'll just add to this thread for everybody's future reference.

I haven't tried the 550s but the Pro 900 has much more bass quantity than the HFI-780 based on a side-by-side comparison, both unamped and using a Dared MP5 to drive them. Based on the graph above though looks like the Pro 900 also has more than the Pro 550!

Is there a possible chance we could repost the graph?  I know reviving an old thread this may seem irrelevant, but it's incredible how everyone looking at the Ultrasone's always wants to know the same thing: the bass quantity punch in comparison throughout the models!

I can't believe there was a chart once, I've been trying to figure this out all for myself in different threads from reading! :/

I haven't heard the 550s, but the bass quantity of the 900s is insane.  Deep, LOUD, and with great impact.  I can't imagine the 550s having bass on the level of the 900
