x2.  Me too.

I'm seriously considering getting these.  I have the HFI-2400s right now, if anyone in here has both and wouldn't mind giving an impression between the two I'd be quite grateful.

Hey guys,

what are you experiences with Dolby Headphone/CMSS-3D. Does S-Logic interfere with positioning, ambience, atmosphere?

Thank you Bourne :)

I actually didn't feel the 2900s or the 900s for that matter performed well with movies; they have tendencies of being overly analytical in certain scenes where a lot is going on making the sound a bit uncomfortable. For movies I always felt that warmer headphones perform better i.e. HD650s and D7000s.. I just got my Signature Pros haven't tried them on movies yet, but I will soon.

That might depend on the movie for me. I love hearing every shell casing drop in action movies, but hearing extra stuff in say a sitcom could possibly be bothersome, albeit kinda cool imo.Either way I was more commenting on how well the S-Logic works for DH positioning, rather than the detail extraction. Can't wait to get another DH source again to try movies/games with my T1-I hear they are exceptional for that!

Oh I understand, I did think they performed better on my Yamaha Receiver (which I ended up returning), but when plugging the phones into my Amp/Dac I have to play movies through 2channel stereo (because my dac can't decode dolby or dts) and when played that way, movies literally sound terrible through the 900/2900s while they sound really exciting on the D7000s (don't know why that is).

Hey guys, got my 2900 now and I really like them compared to AKG K702/HD650/DT990 Premium but I might be in need of an amp that "rounds" the treble a bit, or does the treble tone down itself after burnin? I wouldn't say it's piercing or devastating but definitely something I am not used to yet. Which amp would you recommend?

regards

P.S.: Oh, and regarding gaming these are really really awesome. Noticably Better than K701, PC360, DT990, HD650. Tested with Killzone 3, BF3 (Dolby Headphone 7.1, GstAudio.SoundSystemSize 71 GstAudio.StereoMode 0), Elder Scrolls Skyrim, Alan Wake, Crysis 2, Bioshock 1 (EAX 5.0). Positional sound is really awesome.

the 2900s are sibilant, much less than the pro900, but burn in won't change it much. If you want to warm up the treble try looking into tube amplifiers like little dot and Woo Audio

How about Schiit Asgard, Valhalla or Lyr for the ULTRASONE PRO 2900? Also considering Matrix M-Stage.

I use my Ultrasone Pro 2900's with my schiit Asgard and I think they pair nicely since its a low Impendence headphone. So you can't really go wrong with getting the Asgard for them. I wouldn't get the Valhalla or Lyr because they are made for harder to drive headphones. I don't know about the M-Stage as I have never tried that amp

Any other recommendations? Preferably with easy availability in Europe.
