I started a poll similar to this with the Qualia 010's. They seemed to garner polarized opinions but I was surprised to see that so many people loved the Qualia's. The Edition 9 seems to be another polarizing headphone. I would like to see what happens here. After you are done voting, if you have an opinion on the Qualia's, please click on the link and vote:

What do those that "loath" them say?

I don't loath them, but I find them not very good either.
They are veiled, lack detail and finesse, have rolled off highs and give the whole sound signature an artificial feel. Plastic violins and iron guitars.
I,m exagerating a bit to make my point.
I find these trait most obvious in jazz and classical music.
In all kinds of electronic music and rock they truly shine, but I mostly listen to jazz and classical.....

Hi, Kees,

Amusingly: you let your Ed9 go because of its plastic sound and decided on the DX1000, while I am over the moon with the Ed9 and have returned the DX1000 after two weeks because of its closet sound. So differently impressions can be.

But thousand thanks for the great hp and the flawless transaction, Kees.

It's amazing we hear so differently. I think they are the most detailed, have the most finesse, and have the most natural and realistic sound and presentation of all my headphones. And I'm not exaggerating.

LOVED to infinity and I have heard a lot of headphones. The Edition 9, to me, sounds by far the most realistic headphone I have ever heard. And... I mostly listen to Jazz, Classical and Fusion (aswell as stuff like Radiohead).
