Well TBH if I had the spare cash I'd invest in these and hope they get a following like the R10.

me 2, after hearing Ultrasones' open headphones, i didn't think they would make the next ED 10 an open can.

however, there are many other things i'd rather do with $3k, such as gamble all of it in vegas or order 12,000 nuggets from McDonalds.

Let's try to put things in perspective. With about the current MSRP of the ED10, you can buy a pair of these, for $2600 total, $7500 MSRP...

Sorry, not saying the ed10 is overpriced. Just find it interesting that speakers devalue so quickly, and if it continues... maybe speakers will have better sound quality/money ratio.

I already have all the loudspeaker I will ever need.  But headphones are much easier to try out and have multiples of than speakers

I think the OM Design series must've been a huge flop.. either that or Klipsch decided they didn't want any higher end speakers competing with their own models when they bought the place. The OMs were I think in production for only a year or so, and the OMD subwoofers disappeared in a matter of months. I certainly feel sorry for anyone who paid full price when they were released, as they'll get nothing for them on the used market. That's one advantage to the ED10, they definitely aren't going to lose 66% of their value.

expensive....yes. would I get one if I liked them and had the money? YOU BET!  I would have the Orpheus, the R10 any Grado flagship and whatever makes my ears happy, and that includes speakers as well...
