Hi I've got the Ultrasone HFI 650 DVD edition. I've mainly hooked it up to my PC - Hercules Gamesurround Fortissimo 7.1 and primarily play games, then music, movies, etc. On occasion I'll lug the cans and loooonngg cord directly up to my VCR to watch movies on TV; strange I know, but my TV doesn't have a headphone jack.
Question, I want the best out of my headphones. And I should soon be in a position to buy an amp. Though I've read a few threads saying the cans sound fine unamped. That garbage in means garbage out (looking at my sources). Well I plan to upgrade my sources much later.
If I bought an amp would it really amplify noise and other various crap to the extent that it would be annoying?
Additionally would the Headsave ULTRA be excessive? I'm leaning towards the TRANSIT though because that seems more suited to me considering my "equipment". Just to make sure, is there the general belief that the TRANSIT is better than the SuperMini v6.28 (the updated v6)?
