Hey guys, in your opinion what would be the ultimate tube or tubes I could get for my LD MK111? I listen mostly to 70's rock. I have a beyerdynamic dt880 and a Grado sr325i and also I love the bass. I have only the stock tubes and I would like to stick with the ef95 family.

Thank you for your time

The best resource for you would be to claw your way through the extensive MKII and MKIII threads based on the initial amp reviews by forum member Penchum. It was mentioned in those threads that 85% of the sound difference in an LD comes from the driver tube. I was quite happy with the stock Chinese power tube adn Mullard CV131 driver tubes in the E92 mode.

x2 on the Mullard CV131 (my current favorite), but I've got some GE 5 Star 5654 on the way.

I also like the Russian Rocket for rock.

6ZH1P-EV. They are great tubes for the price, and do great with rock. Very easy to find and listen to. EF95s so you don't need to install jumpers.

The Mullard CV131 are EF92s (need jumpers); however you can get a Mullard 8100 from the EF95 family.

Go Vols.
