I currently have the UE EB and am wondering if upgrading to the pro's would make any noticeable sound difference. Can any body comment on the major differences that would be noticed?

I presume that you are talking about the SuperFi 5 pro correct? The next question is what types of music do you currently listen to today? If you are really into electronic, house or Hip-Hop I think you will feel that you have lost something....

Thanks, I'll be sticking with EB's for a while, but are you supposed to achieve any amount of a seal with them? I may not be wearing them properly, but there seems to be very marginal isolation. Is this normal?

The EB's doesn't isolate as much as the Pro's due to their semi-open design. It's 16db vs 26db noise attenuation for the EB's vs Pro's. If the noise around you sound muffled and you get a massive amount of low end, you have a seal. The seal is extremely important for IEMs.

The Pro's are definitely an upgrade. I had both EB's and Pro's at the same time for six months and during that time I never picked up the EB's other than for comparison purpouses, they sound so muffled compared to the Pro's.

However I think you should save up the big dough for the triple.fi

I agree with the other spenders. If you can wing it financially and can handle the awkward fit of the UE universals, just jump into the Triple.fi 10 Pros. They sound outstanding.

I should amend my post by saying that the fit might not be a huge issue for a lot -- even most -- folks... but that it is my personal opinion that they tend to make my ears ache slightly, have their own sticking-out-of-the-ears style, and are a bit difficult to maintain a solid seal (esp while moving) without foam/comply tips.

But if you're satisfied with the EB's, I'd think the fit is similar.

The sound is amazing and isn't really matched by any universal IEM that I know of IMO. (This is the reason I've just lept to the UE11. ::crazyface:: )
