It is indeed big. I'm not sure if it's the same size with the demo unit I auditioned at Jaben SG.

So the difference between the 2nd and 3rd gen are just the cables?

It's a nice looking cable. Not heavy at least to me.
Sound:

Adds a little more extension on both ends. More quantity on the highs.
The bass is deeper, giving it a nice texture and impact on the sub bass. But the mid bass have been attenuated by this cable leading to a thinner mids or especially the vocals.
Mids - it still has some warmth but has lost some body. Instruments are much more easy to pinpoint and spacious but sound thin to me. Female vocals benefit from this cable, while it took away some warmth on the low mids, it opens up more on the high mids giving a nice timbre on the female vocals as well as on the instruments.

Highs- it is more extended and has more quantity compared to the stock cable. There is more clarity on the whole and adds some crispness on the instruments. No sibilance issue.

The cable gives the 18+ a larger soundstage but by also attenuating the mid bass area but retains the natural sound. There is a bit more resolution overall. The presentation is balanced. It's neither dark or bright but still the same neutral setting (again with less warmth) compared to stock cable.

It's a very good cable for rock and Electro tracks but imo not for vocal tracks as it loses the mid forwardness and intimacy of the 18+.

The UE18+PRO I have with the new connectors and superbax cable is considered the V2 according to my UE contact. The V3 from what I understand will be released later and will have more headroom.
