We don't know until the box is opened, sorry :frowning2:  For now, we'll just say it's in a superposition where it is both the 900 and 900S.

So kind of like Schrödinger's cat....?

I guess we can call it Schrödinger's earphones.

You need to just go ahead and leave a negative review on Amazon and on Head Fi about this. They will only respond to you afterwards when you actually have some leverage because you left a black mark. I would urge every person who received this kind of treatment to do so, otherwise they can continue to do this. Not everyone who is going to buy the UE900s will go through the last pages of this thread.

I'm not sure that will help much.  I have a different Logitech product, the Fabricskin keyboard cover for iPad Air.  Take a look at the reviews of this one ...

More 1 star reviews than any other rating due to issues with the case cracking.  And to this date Logitech has refused to address or even acknowledge the issue, and people calling in to CS are being told there is no issue with this product.

I also own a few of the Logitech Squeezebox products (2 Booms, a Classic, and a Touch) which Logitech quietly dropped, and now their replacement (Logitech Smart Radio) has been dropped as well.

It seems as if Logitech just doesn't care about their customers anymore.

Interesting comparison with Grado in the way changes incorporated. Grado actually slipped in their new headphone models (e range replacing i models) without telling anyone, 2 months in advance. Only by looking and seeing the driver had changed to red, gave clues you had a new model before it was announced!

Anyone have a comparison between the UE 900 and the Rock It Sounds R-50?

I absolutely love the R-50 but the UE 900 is on offer at the moment and was wondering if it's worth double the price.

Well.. the R-50 are flatter. Leaner, colder, tighter. More 2D soundstage. The UE900 are more bass emphasized, warmer, more musical, more "fun", more consumer friendly and more 3D soundstage. If you like the R-50 which are pretty neutral for their signature, I don't think the UE900 offer enough technical improvements. To my wallet the UE900 would be a good performer at max $200 and no issues with quality. The R-50 are damn good and I'm actually thinking of buying a pair again. My comparison is from memory only. My UE900 are broken and I sold my R-50 a long time ago but I've compared them extensively before.

Just an FYI the UE 900s is sold out... Now  my question is how can a new product be sold out? (in US, Canada and UK and some other countries in Europe)  If it's sold out it means it's no longer available. Are they finally will be offering the 900s with the new shell?

In Australia and HK for example the 900s has been removed from the website and instead they have the UE 900 again.

I guess consistency is the key...

I had planned to sell my warranty replacement but will most likely keep them now as this reenforces what a sham company they've become.. I don't think it matters what they discontinue the build quality is absolute crap across their entire product range they will not last the duration of the manufacturers warranty.. I received a set of new UE 900s from Logitech Netherlands two weeks ago which I will open shortly and will tell you if it's the revised edition or not..

I'm curious what you will find swiftkidd.

Personally I really like Logitech products in general, durable too most of the time. Too bad they fall short with UE, I really like mine. Hopefully they don't break down soon.
