Gotta say, that's about the ugliest DIY headphone stand I've seen (including the jars full of paper). You should at least paint it or something.

I like it, it has a certain utilitarian feel about it. It's like a CD rack I once saw that somebody had made out of old CD cases, it's recycling something old into a useful product, and saving the planet man!

You could always use a thick roll of toiletpaper stuffed on the end of the plunger stick. Nice and soft so it won't scratch the headphones.
