Nothing ...
Analogue via Vinyl is mastered differently to digital,
closest I’ve heard to an analogue like sound is a full DCS stack at a hifi show and a similar all Chord setup..
not having an unlimited budget I went with a Qutest DAC and MScaler as a digital front end,
if you want a top quality headphone amp built in go listen to the TT2 or Dave depending on budget then add an MScaler...
there will be many different opinions so only you can choose but listening to either top of the line DCS or Chord setups will give an idea
of what is achievable.... once you’ve heard those as a benchmark something for less dollars may sound just as good to you which is
all that counts in the end ....
I had the same quest for me as i always had problems listening to my setup for longer periods. I didn't enjoy it and always found me skipping to the next track even though it was very good, but it had that digital glance to it that made it sound strange. I've now achieved an extremely analogue sounding setup by doing the following things:
1. Change the DS Dac to a R2R NOS Dac
2. Avoid the use of powerfilters
3. Avoid USB and change to AES/EBU or I2S
4. Reclock the Signal
5. Use solidcore cables as much as possible.
