I was channel surfing the other night when I stumbled across "The Gadget Show" on Bravo (Sky)...
There was a guy testing out 4 "Noise Cancelling Headphones" on a plane with a PCDP...
The line up:
Sony on-ear's with built in circut for noise cancelling
Sennheiser's with wand-type circuitry
Bose
circumnaural's with built in circuitry
Shure E3C's (no circuitry!
lol)
The results:
The Shures won by miles and miles and miles
The reviewer said the Bose's sounded the "best" out of the electronic noise cancelling 'phones, but the noise was still present... And the music sounded a bit distant.
The Sennheiser's had far too much microphonics off the "wand" thing.
The Sony's were just rubbish.
He said that the Shures blocked out not only the engine roar, but the chatter of other passengers, while injecting pure music into his head. He seemed VERY pleased with them!
After the plane journey, he chartered a helicopter to fly around in while listening to his Shures!!! He was even more impressed then!!!
Shures rock!! AS SEEN ON TV
