I just bought my first wireless headphones (AKG 305) and was unhappy about the background noise. My dealer changed them for the K405 and these a just as bad., I have never had UHF headphones before - is it usual to expect a constant backgroung hiss?

yes. most have the hiss. i think the akg Hearo and senn units may not. what's the frequency of your unit?

thanks for the reply. My dealer will change the 405's - but I need to know what model to ask him to replace them with. I am not prepared to accept the background hiss - can I get the same quality with wireless phones that I can get with wired ones? - can you recomend a model that you have personal experience of?
I have spent some time in Phoenix - which area are you living in?
I have stayed at the Point resort at South Mountain (Tempe) and like your city.

R1t,

you may want to do a search for the word, wireless:

i can not recommend any wireless units. glad you liked the city. it can get a little "warm" in the summer (about 120 degrees) but the winters make up for it. grey skies are here only 1 or 2 days a month, all the rest of the time it's sunny
