I just got my UE-11's today.

What more can I say... they are great and worth every penny to me.

I normally use a set of Alessandro MS-pros but im thinking I may not be using them as much now, they are still a great headphone without a doubt and maybe still better for sound tracks that are primarily guitar based but apart from that the UE-11's have it for me, easy.

In another thread I found someone said this about them:
"I usually use the HD650 when at home because of its soundstage, however the UE11 offers a tremendous increase in resolution of bass and low level detail."

I don't know about the soundstage not being as good as the HD650's because it seems very good to me but I haven't used the HD650's for a very long period of time and on many tracks, really just demo them but they are on my list of headphones to buy for my incoming Raptor amp.

Regarding the Alessandro and other headphones I had some time with like the AKG701's I definitely have to agree with the above comment about having an increase in resolution of bass and low level detail, yet the bass is still very clean.

So far they still sound good without an amp straight from my Sony Mini-Disc player but they definitely sound best running through my Hornet portable amp.

I think I have been fortunate to get a good seal on both first time around, my left seals a little better then the right but they both seal well. It did take 3 sets of impressions to finally pass the QA, the two original sets send were too short and the third seem to have been just right. So if your getting your impressions made make sure they are not too short.

I can highly recommend these IEM's for anyone wanting the best portable solution, damn good ear phones.

I'll try get some tomorrow after work, it's fairly late here in AUS at the moment, going to get some shut-eye.

I didn't get any custom art, maybe I should have but I did get the "electric blue" colour and my initials printed on them.

I forgot to also say they are the most comfortable set of headphones I have ever owned but then again you would expect that with them being custom made.

After a little while you forget your even wearing them.

I didn't get charged for adding my initials but I did have to ask for it.

I got the carrier box with my first name on it and the initials on the headphones for no extra charge.

I didn't ask for my initials but they came on them anyway.

Geez is every audiophile rolling in money?? It seems like everybody buys the flavor of the month, and this month is the UE-11 for $1150, but who cares everybody will buy them anyway...haha, congrats. I'm very envious....if I had the money UE would be getting a call...

Well... Its not all that bad. You don't need much to get better quality then what you'd typically get from an iPod, amp, interconnects, and popular high-end universal IEMs. $50 1st gen shuffle + ~$1200 UE11 is about the same price as most peoples portable setups in these forums and I bet this beats it.

Much more realistically portable as well. Save the rest for a desktop setup.

Calculate how much you have spent and see how close you come.
