I need two questions answered: What is the best pair of headphones, unamped, for $50 and the best under $100.

Well I'm sure we can give you some recommendations for some of the better headphones in those price ranges, but the fact is there is no single "best" headphone. People have different ears and prefer different sounds and sonic signatures.

Under $100:

Sennheiser HD 280 Pro (if you want closed/sealed cans)
