I hate to give away my secret stash place, yes, the one that had 16 of the hard to find Raytheon 5751 windmill getters, but, here it is:

Chimera Labs

They have really, really good prices on their stuff. Some even doubted if they were legit after seeing how little they charged!!!

Man.. ive searched everywhere and I still cannot find any of the tubes recommended for the MG-Head OTL on Nick Dangerous' site...

Any other good places to look?

The ones i'm looking for rarely ever hit ebay. When they do, im worried about them being used and the price tends to be way higher than it should be.

and dont forget, the best place to buy tubes could possably be www.ebay.com

Not so sure about that. Yes, there may be some bargains to be had there. But there are plenty of examples of people selling counterfeit tubes (right down to the boxes) on e-bay. You have little guarantee they're the tubes the dealer sez they are, they're the same ones in the photo, they haven't been used up and have no life left, that they are in fact a "matched pair", etc.

FWIW, I think e-bay is risky at best. Personally, I bite the bullet and pay the extra to go with the established and known dealers.

While there's nothing wrong with being extra-cautious, a savvy consumer can get great NOS tubes on eBay at better-than-dealer prices. Yes, some tubes may be fakes, but with a bit of research, one can learn enough about the physical characteristics of certain brands to know what's real and what's not (e.g. a rebadged Sovtek 6922 looks very different from a real Amperex 6DJ8 if one knows what to look for)..
