Tuberolling help

Hey all,

I recently picked up an integrated hybrid amp (Jolida 1501RC) and want to do a bit of tuberolling. I however know nearly nothing on the subject. From what I understand the tubes I need are 12AX7. I'm still not sure exactly how tubes play a roll in sound, but what I'm hoping to achieve is perhaps a tad of forwardness to the mids, and perhaps a bit deeper bass, as its a bit thin on the low end.

I just blew a big wad (get your mind out of the gutter!) on equipment as is, and can't really afford to get into any esoteric tubes, but reccomendations around 35 dollars would be greatly apprecaited.

always start with google. do a search for "tube rolling" (include the quaotaion marks).

and of course, do a Head-Fi search for "tube rolling".

find the specs for the 12ax7 and then compare them to other tubes. then search for threads on those tubes.
