Tube positions on MPX3

I'm going to try out a pair of NOS Sylvania VT-231s tonight, along with a Ken Rad tube in the driver spot. Mikhail recommended this configuration as his favorite, and I can't wait to try it... Should be a nice upgrade from the Electro Harmonix 6sn7s I've been using.

Just to confirm: the driver tube is the one closest to the MPXs's front panel, right?

Yes thats correct assuming this is one new black mpx3's

other tubes to try out :

tungsol roundplates - a lot of people here really picked this one as a standout .

the brimar cv 1988 - it will bring out a lot of detail and soundstage but will sacrifice the mids and a lil bass .
