Since I'm deciding to keep these, I really want to power them well. I've already searched the forums and learned that the Gilmore Lite is a great amp for these headphones. BTW, where can I buy this amp? I can't find it on eBay.

Anyway, I've got a small budget. No more than 150 dollars. I'd like to try tube. I've always wanted a tube amp for my stereo, but could never afford it. I thought this might be a good opportunity for me to try some tubes out. However, if my small budget doesn't allow for a good headphone amp, then I'll go SS. What are your recommendations? I'm open to the best buys for that price, tube OR solid-state. I might sacrifice a little quality to lean more toward a tube sound. Portable or not, I don't give a crap. THANKS!

I searched around and ended up with the $149 mSeed Spirit which is SS. The only other SS amp I considered in this price range was the Porta Corda at $160.

I know there is at least one Little Dot amp of the tube persuasion in the price range but I can't tell you much more. I think it is one of the older versions as the MKIIIs are currently coming out. I think they are reasonably well regarded but I haven't heard them so I can't vouch. I am starting to get the tube itch, however. Wait . . . that sounds kind of dirty.
