I need a list of tube headphone amps that have NO visible tubes. Or at least none outside the chassis. Not my personal choice but wife restrictions

Choices under 950 would be nice. Thanks.

Off the top of my head, the Audiovalve RKV and the Melos SHA have the tubes inside of the chassis.

edit: Does someone have youngins' running around?

Between the Rudi and 2000ok which do you prefer? 2000ok purchasable?

Rudi was on my list until I read a review stating it had a very slow character and fell apart on fast rock. Comments?

Also consider the Millet Hybrid, Headroom has a version under $950. The tubes are exposed but I can hold my finger on them forever since the temp is about the same as a heat pad on high. Plus there is no high voltage to worry about.

Wheatfield HA-1 also had enclosed tubes.

Tube thing a visual issue not safety. Wife thinks they are ugly science project rejects

Since we have to share an office soon... no tubes

I'm sure the Eartube would be great sounding but man why oh why such an ugly enclosure?

ASL MG Head comes to mind, with the cage, that is.

Are you going to be using the amp with your 880s? that might narrow your choices down a bit...

Ya Beyer 880 and MF A324. Be giving Senn another shot at our Ottawa mini meet but chances are the 650 will still suck hard at low volume, ~60dB. It'll be a very hard challenge since I hated the 600 so much.

I do not want to offend or hurt you. This information is just here for you to think about and is no way an attempt to disrupt or irritate you. Just food for thought is all. Simply dump wife and get the biggest, bohemouth, heat happy, tubeorrific, ugly lookin, massive, CD happy, tube amp you can afford. And enjoy.

Tubes that do not show! I built a tube preamp with nice large balloon 27's just so they would show. Tubes that don't show! How can you say these words? Oh, the pain.

How about that Bada PH-1 that was selling on ebay a year ago or so (around $150 if I recall)?
