Any advice on what tube amps would synergize best with Denon headphones? I have the D5000 and I'm aiming for a more expansive and natural soundstage. Should I give up the fight and move to open phones?

I'm not sure a tube amp will give you a bigger soundstage, but the D5000's sound great with the ASL MG HEAD OTL III.

Thanks, Skylab. I was totally unaware of that model. Out of curiosity, have you ever tried a hybrid like the Millett or Millett portable?

I listened to agile_one's Denon D5000's paired with his Yamamoto at the National Meet earlier this year, and they sounded really, really great.

There is quite an extensive thread in the amp section on the Yammy that you might want to check out.

Sorry, I have not heard either.
