friend says only good ones on list are gamecom 777, siberia's, ad700, hd 555.
i use onboard soundcard.

would be nice if you said gamecom 777 or siberias are good enough due to money id save. looking to use for games, music and movies. very long peroids without removing.
if you did say siberias could i get the regular jack model or should i use usb? my current are Plantronics .Audio 510 USB Ultimate Performance and would like the new set to be way more comfortable and possible sound better.

Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but most people here would probably say those aren't your best bets. FWIR, the ad700 is great for gaming due to its largish soundstage (I've been thinking of getting a pair myself...they seem to be going for $80-ish at Amazon at the moment).

Absolutely NOTHING in your list of any consequence nor worthy of any kind of recommendation, except perhaps for lo-fi maybe the AD-700.

The JVC's have been getting a lot of hype. The JVC HA-DX1 is supposed to be quite exceptional. For gaming though, nothing beats the AD700+clip on mic.

HD555, AD700, and Siberia are very nice. I like the Siberia most for comfort, they don't sound bad either.
And yeah, Charlie is just an elitist. Some of the headphones on your list are nice.
And if you pick the Siberias, don't get the horrible USB sound card. It's probably worse than your onboard. It's only designed for crappy laptop sound cards.

I'll chime in but can only say that out of your list, the only ones I've heard are the hd555 by Senn....they are easy to drive and pretty well worth the price. Good luck with narrowing down that pretty lengthy list.

i just ordered some white ones for $65. friend says he had the ad700's, and while they sounded better for music he likes his siberias better for ingame cs 1.6 headphones due to more bass.

so hopefully all turns out well. i was actually happy with the headphones i have atm just not comfort, maybe they will sound better then what i have + added comfort.

If you hear nothing but Bam Bam some one could just sneak up on you and stab you. But op since your prolly on a budget. amazon.com has HD555, AD700 and HFI-580 all under 100. Depending on your Ears, Even tho AD700 has velvet pads some people like my self they made me feel like I had a spa installed on my head. While Pleather doesnt. So padding react to diffent people's ears. Other then AD700 based on the size of your head sliding off.

Its a Good headphone for gaming, I used to own one, it has huge sound stage.Only thing is onboard audio cant drive it fully so it not gonna sound right. So you either need a headphone amp or get a sound card. Then you can just use a clip on mic.

You dont want so called gaming headphones or 5.1 headphones. Too much bass that out does the rest of the sounds in game isnt good as it can give you a headache if its boomy bass.I had something like this with so called Gaming headphones I used in the past.

But Personally I would grab a sound card first, then headphones. As headphones isnt gonna sound right on onboard unless your running a headphone amp.
