Hello everyone,

I have owned the HD 580s for a few years now and really can't justify the money to upgrade to the 650s right now, and don’t think the hd600s would be a big improvement. So I am going to try and find the clou cable as a replacement over stock.

But what I really want to find is the 600/650 grills to replace the stock 580s with. I cannot seem to find any place that sells these things though. Does anyone have some information on a place in the U.S? And I am also wondering how you replace the grills in the first place? Is it an easy process?

The grills just pull off the back, its really easy.

You have to order them directly from Sennheiser, the part number is 070211 according to my invoice, they were $6.75 each.

Also, while you're at it, try defoaming them (just pull off the pads, remove the foam layer, push the pads back in). It makes a very noticeable difference in the upper frequencies.

I'm also looking to replace 580 grills. Did you order these recently? I thought Senn USA stopped carrying 600 grills and now will only sell the more expensive ones for the 650.

Well I emailed Sennheiser today so I will get back with you on what they say. I also am trying to find the clou cable...ghhrr

I don't know if they stopped carrying them, I ordered them late August last year. Good luck

I spoke with several people at senn, and the only grills available at this time are the 650's. That part number above is no longer a functioning part number. Reading into this a little bit, it seems if senn is no longer carrying replacement parts in the numbers they used to, some new product may be coming.
