This may be a dumb question, but I'd rather ask for a second opinion and confirm that no adapter is actually needed.

I have headphones with a balanced TRRS socket:

Usually, I use a TRRS to 4-pin XLR cable to connect my headphones to a balanced amp.
However, my portable amp is single-ended, so I use a simple TRS to TRS cable:

This works because both L- and R- of the TRRS are connected to the common G of the TRS.
- What are the disadvantages of this connection method?
- Is there a better way to connect balanced headphones to a single-ended amp?

I'm curious to know the answer to these too.

From a slightly different angle, TRRS to Mojo. But thinking the answers will be the same.
