Looking for some help to troubleshoot an issue with my Focal Utopia headphones.
I've only recently re-started listening to music after a long distance move. By way of reference, I have three DAC/Amps (Hugo Chord 2, WA5 and Matrix Element X) and two cables (standard cables and 3rd party balanced cables).
When I use the Focal Utopia with WA5 or Matrix Element X, with both cables, there is a very audible crackle / static in the background that you can hear as soon as the DAC/Amps are powered up.
When I use the Focal Utopia with the Hugo Chord 2, there is no audible crackle / static in the background (or if there is, it's almost inaudible to my ears).
I was wondering where it could be the power supply (the house was build in the early 00's, so it's not too old), but the WA5 has a completely separate power supply unit that I would have thought provided a good deal of isolation?
Any help appreciated. Was about to send the unit in to repair, but the fact that I can't reproduce the issue with the Hugo Chord 2 gives me pause (the headphones are out of warranty and were purchased 2nd hand).
