The TRN VX aliexpress page is up. Shell looks quite futuristic looking + seashell like haha. V shaped set based on graph? Might be near basshead too!

A bit steep in price indeed for the terminator killer.
But recently TRN have great job done a great IEM like v90 and BA5. TeRNinator vX is coming to fight Terminator zsX!

Probably not going to be early adopter like I did before since I have too many sidegrades on this range. Wonder if they can match with NX7 Pro in that price.

That marketing FR cant be trusted at all based on experience with TRN marketing graph, unlike KZ marketing graph that still have similarity with real FR. Hopefully they have forwarded mids but i doubt it, looks going to be V shaped with much details.
The shell design is kinda cool IMHO, love the Black Knight

I see it the same way. I really like the BA5, including its BA bass. They aren't making any claims about the DD material beyond its magnets (i.e. graphene/CNT/etc.), so I'm concerned that it will be more bass quantity but less quality. The DD of lower-priced IEMs are usually not very impressive, in my experience.

Yeah it is pricier than the usual sub $50 CHIFI fare, but as per usual CHIFI will drop in prices from the launch price if you are patient.

I didn't try the TRN V90 or BA5, but seems the reviews for these were good on headfi and other budget audio sites. Tuning wise it looks similar to the V90, so hopefully this will be a worthy successor of the V90.

I'll definitely be getting the VX once it shows up on Amazon. I enjoyed the V90 and while I liked the ZSX more, I am very interested in this new one.

I wonder if one of the “internationally-acclaimed sound engineers” is KopiOkaya, I thought his work on BA5 and V90 was excellent.
That design really speaks to me as well.

I like the design with the armatures radiating around the dynamic and keeping similar distance in the path but then they go and stuff two in front. I bet those two are there to give it the V on the high end. Not gonna complain since a cheaper earphone does these sort of things. Gonna settle to $50-ish range so not expensive but hard to imagine there won't be some issue or oddity that persist in these designs. I like how they tout they took two years to develop the inner structure. "Blah blah" years designing and 10, 15, 20 years experienced guy doing tuning yet they will still end up with the good but just missed it sort of thing. Anyone else thinking this is how they do it and want you to buy the next one and then the next one or some still buying into they are gonna get there one day and make a "giant killer"?

I know that TRN have sometimes released a model that was a miss. But it created some hits already.
I have the V90 and i really love it.
I'm kinda excited because the VX doesn't seem to have a 8kHz spike according to the graph. This could make it more musical, more focused on female vocals.
I love the V90s but i would really like to hear a similar IEM with the same bass but less v-shaped. I'm really curious about this one.

I know a graph isn't all but it's a start :)

I haven't heard the BA5, but the V90 are my favorite exercise iems. They somehow seem to be shaped in a way that perfectly fits my ears, and I do like their sound. I'll wait for some users feedback before thinking about purchasing them, though. During the last 3 months Ibought BQEYZ Spring 1, Moondrop Starfield and Akg 371, so the wallet demands a bit of rest!

I think the acceptable expectation is that they should be good for the price (relative to other chi-fi). Relative to the standard fare of Shure and Etymotic they are already giant killers in terms of how much value they offer (e.g V90 vs Se215), but relative to even mid-fi chi-fi they are going to be lacking a little, though can make up for it with unique attributes. I like them for what they are, and because they can give me unusual / specialist tunings I wouldn’t normally go for (BA5 is a great example of that).

What are some of the mid fi chi fi you think are good? I don't know as many of them besides like Moondrop s8, blessing 2, and fiio fh7
