I've gotta wonder if the Icarus is going to sort of do what the Atlas did, but at a higher level. There's a very distinct separation going with their lineups. The Vyrus and Hyperion are what's left of the original Trinity sound we know (since few outside of CanJam got a listen to the Icarus III), then the comparatively cold/analytical tuning of the Phantom line, and then the wildcard (at the moment) that is the Icarus line. I'd like to think that the Icarus line is supposed to shoe in where something like the Delta and Atlas were, but the current pricing structure doesn't seem to indicate the existence of such a product. Could be in their future? Would be a good product and I feel like it would sell well. They don't have anything in that price bracket since discontinuing the Delta V2 and Atlas. No personal attacks from me, and you don't need our/my permission to do anything? Who said you did?
Anyway, before you got my knickers in a twist I was going to post about how I've been going back through the original trinity lineup and putting my PM4s back in the drawer in favour of the Hyperion and original Atlas.
I wish they could have got the PM4 tuning slightly closer to a the atlas with the additional detail the PM4 brought to the table but with the relatively controlled highs of the atlas, not sure which I like more at this point? The form factor of the atlas is so much nicer, a lot easier for extended sessions.
I'm hoping my PM6 arrive early next week (UK) but know they are going to be more towards the PM4 spectrum than the atlas; not a bad thing as long as the fit is right.
Maybe I should have given the more musical Icarus lineup a chance but even with the great offers, given the current climate I just couldn't do it.
I think someone here has both...pipe up whoever you may be!awww thanks
I'm definitely considering pulling the trigger on Vyrus 2 in their full price. I really enjoy Vyrus 1 and wondering what Vyrus 2 is like.
That would be great if Icarus III/IV was like a upgraded Atlas but much higher!I've gotta wonder if the Icarus is going to sort of do what the Atlas did, but at a higher level. I think someone here has both...pipe up whoever you may be!Though at one point, it was said that the Vyrus 1 and Vyrus 2 are identical in tuning, it was just a change in the physic ergonomics (cabling) and additional filters. Vyrus 2 is great, though I'd be lying if I said I didn't wish it also came in the gunmetal color that the first one came in.
We'll only tie you up and either waterboard or electroshock; we won't do both because that would likely kill you. We're not savages, we just want information! That would be great if Icarus III/IV was like a upgraded Atlas but much higher!
Yes! Whoever has both, do pipe up! Don't worry! We won't interrogate you, tie you up in a chair and use electroshock therapy or waterboarding tactics to get these impressions and comparisons![]()
Am having major issues with my Master and PM6, have had both for some time but due to repeated hospital admissions they've been gathering dust. Anyway, I cannot get a good seal on either, meaning heavily reduced bass. Any tips? Have tried different tips with no joy. I don't have the issue with the PM4 or either
I do have some Kombi tips, cannot get them on though... and have arthritic fingers...

Glad to know that!! They fixed the drivers.I do have both Vyrus I&II. But probably asking me for the differences is similar to getting a review by Elmer Fudd. I do find the Vyrus II to have a much bigger and cleaner sound though.
Just got my Hunter back from being repaired earlier this afternoon. Except that those I received are a completely different pair. I can easily tell because of the heat treating compared to my original pair. Not a problem. All I can say is WOW what a dramatic differance from my original pair. Every single bit of distortion is completely eliminated. The sound is so much more clearer. I am so happy I sent the originals in now as I was debating wether to. Really loving my Hunter now!
Glad to know that!! They fixed the drivers.
+1 point to Trinity customer service.
Also the JVC spiraldots are awesome.
Yeah I would love to join you all as well!I 'm just blown away by how much better the Hunter sounds. I am using Spiral Dots too. They alone have made my other IEM's sound improve.
Sure hope shipping for the PM6 and Hunter pick up next week as I would really like to hear many more reviews.
Yeah I would love to join you all as well!
i have a pair of spiral dots waiting!
Where do you folks pick up your spiral dots at? I can't seem to find them at any sort of reasonable price.
