This is my first post so take it easy on me! I have been reading the forums for about a year and I know there are similar questions on here, but I thought I would start fresh and be a little more specific.
I am most likely going to be ordering a Trekstor Vibez in the next few days...
I wanted an Ipod classic because of the storage, then I wanted the 60gb Kenwood, but I read a few reviewers comments that there was a little bit of hissing going on, and the plastic design wasn't too attractive with the price and all. Then I decided to go with the Trekstor Vibes for sound quality alone...(I like Flac) (I thought about the other, older, flac alternatives, and Cowon too, just doesn't do it for me).....
I've been big on Minidiscs for almost 10 years and have owned an ipod or two in my day...and I've owned a few pricey headphones that always seem to break....
MY QUESTION----
I need an amp for this thing!! looking for more of the "portable rig" setup amp.
Not so much "jogging" but more, slam it in the backpack type thing.
Obviously the Vibez doesnt have a flat surface so this is one of my issues....
The second being looks of course, and then my #1 concern...SOUND!
I listen to alot of Bernhard Gunter, Francisco Lopez type stuff....which is basically SILENCE! so i am really big on HISS!!! I can't stand HISS! I have been a musician and home studio-r for a while and notice all the little details and surely notice hiss.
so what amp do i get?!?! I need something that I can "attach" to the back of the vibez ( i will also have the leather case from Noreve USA)...something where I will get hardly any hiss, and i bang of a sound!
It seems that the Ray Samuels amps are getting good reviews.
I am also considering the iBassos, although I have read reviews that the sound isnt "that" great, compared to the rays. (looking for an amp under 500, but best bang for my buck)
Also, I have narrowed down my headphones to
the
Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5 EB OR the
Atrio MG5 Pros or M8s.

Thanks for all your help.

I've been very pleased with my RSA Hornet 'M'. If you are primarily going to use IEMs, the Tomahawk may even be better.

so the
Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5 EB and
Atrio MG5 Pros or M8s
are considered IEMs eventhough they are more
in the "lightweight cheapo" division?

would the hornet be giving me a better sound though?
i own a pair of pk2s so I will be using those as well, here and there.

My experience is with Etys and Shures. Proper amping definitely improves the sound. I would try to audition some small amps if possible.
